I’ve come across a few quotes, shared postings on living. But what if you’re waiting on the next step? How does one live while waiting?
You’ve weathered the first several years of grief. You’ve said your goodbyes. You’ve written your letters. You’ve spent the better part of however many years learning to live in the black hole that is death.
Only to be confronted by the aching loneliness that is widowhood.
People surround you. You hear their voices speaking sweet things. You see them holding each other only to wonder if you’re ever going to be held again.
So, while waiting, what to do?
A dear friend sent me this quote – author unknown.
“Stop waiting for Friday…for summer, for success, for someone to fall in love with, happiness is achieved when you stop waiting for it and make the most of the moment you are in now.”
Today, whether it’s a meal you love, a cup of tea you sip, or a long run you lace-up for, savor the moment.
Savor the sweet smile from your children, the message from a beloved friend, the tender touch from one who loves your heart.
While you’re waiting, live. Live not because your lost love would have wanted you to.
Live because you want to. 💙
